Since 2005 WHALER’s Creation-Foster Youth
Arts and Media Training has worked tirelessly to
promote foster care and adoption through the
arts and media. Our program and services are
designed to help current and former foster and
adopted youth develop plays, a magazine and
long lasting friends and "families". In addition to
involvement in the arts and media, youth involved
in our programing also gives back to their
communities. Youth are engaged in volunteering
in the community as well as developing plays for
children in day cares, hospitals, and various
organizations
Please plan to attend one of our performances

keep you up-to-date on our up coming events
and community activities.

Our Programs
History on Stage, is a year-round performing arts program that runs in 12 week
cycles. This program provides an opportunity for foster and adopted youth to be
engaged in the performing arts including drama, singing, modeling, dancing and
post-production skill development work. Additionally our youth research and develop
plays based on true stories and events.
Just Like Me, is a magazine that is written for and by current and former foster
youth, parents, and associates. This magazine reaches homes, businesses and the
foster care community throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Just Like Me was inspired
by foster youth as a means to bring awareness and education to the general
community about foster care and adoption issues and events. The magazine was
launched in 2008 and has grown to a recognized publication that represents the
voices of thousands of current and former foster youth.
Just Like Me is a great read for anyone considering becoming a foster/adopted
parent. To subscribe please fill out a membership form and your membership, which
includes a subscription to Just Like Me will be processed immediately. Please know
that your magazine will be sent electronically.
